CertRM (Remedial massage)
Certificate of Clinical Hypnotherapy
In recent times it has become obvious to Lucia – and to those in her referral network of osteopaths, GPs and others – that the needs of the community are becoming increasingly focused on remedying symptoms of stress and anxiety. In response, Lucia has extended her strong interest in the neuroplasticity of the brain and has acquired hypnotherapy qualifications, building her skills and capacity for innovation in the support and holistic body/mind care of her current and future clientele.
Lucia welcomes clients to discover an improved lifestyle, free from extra stresses and to help in the process of achieving calmer lives both physically and mentally.
Acupuncture uses very fine needles to gently access points on the body to stimulate the movement of blood, activate the nervous system, regenerate/untangle/release tension in muscle fibres and even assist internal organs to promote longer lasting health. Digestive health, headaches/migraine & pain management are just some examples of issues we can discuss.
Sometimes people use acupuncture for general well-being and maintenance. It’s interesting to note that some of the points we use are also known as trigger points, which is why acupuncture is widely used for musculoskeletal concerns – many AFL footballers are regular users of this form of treatment in their regime.
Lucia also uses remedial massage, cupping – commonly used by athletes, moxa – heat applied directly to trigger points, and includes take home advice specific to the issues presented e.g. rehabilitation exercise, positive reinforcement etc. when necessary.
Private health rebates available.
When you find it difficult to get over mental barriers in your life that hold you back from achieving your goals – hypnosis can be the key to unlock those mind blocks.
Hypnosis bypasses the critical, analytical part of your mind in order to make deep, lasting change.
Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of mind which we all experience during the course of a day. For example, when you are engrossed in a really good book or film, when you drive somewhere, walk somewhere and don’t remember the details of how you got to your destination because you were on ‘automatic pilot’. Do you remember the last time you simply stared off into the distance and ‘daydreamed’? This is also an example of a hypnotic state of mind. These are everyday examples of how hypnosis is not unfamiliar to us all.
In a clinical setting, you are guided into the hypnotic state by the therapist, and here, we make the changes via the inner subconscious mind. You are always in control of what happens within your own session – the therapist is simply a guide.
In a typical session, Lucia gets to know you first through a detailed interview, counselling and then, if appropriate, hypnosis. Lucia will guide you into a pleasant state of relaxation where your critical/analytical mind will be asked to have a rest, take a backseat and allow your subconscious mind to listen.
The interview and the counselling is where information is gathered and gives Lucia the opportunity to learn how you see/feel the world around you.
Through the trusting relationships Lucia builds with her clients she is able to establish an insight into their unique individualism and view of life – learning to see and feel the world as they do, to better tailor an approach most suited to them.
Initial consultations are 90 minutes.
Allow one hour for any follow-up session.
Email and telephone support is offered before and after counselling and hypnosis treatments if needed. Please email me with your contact information and with any questions before making an appointment, this also gives me the opportunity to find out more about you beforehand.
If you are unsure if this style of therapy could help you process things, Lucia will be happy to talk with you on the phone or through email.
As a member of the AACHP (Australian Association of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy). Being a member of an association Lucia is required to have an ongoing supervision and is held to the high standards and ethics of the Association.
The Goulding Process - SleepTalk® for Children
SleepTalk® is for any child. It has been used all over the world for children with milder issues, to those with more difficult, challenging conditions.
SleepTalk® is safe, calming, easy to do and has its effects last a life-time. In most cases, the whole family notices positive changes in everyday living – calmness, increased patience and happiness.
SleepTalk® empowers parents to instil life-long gifts of self-confidence, positive self-esteem and reduced anxiety to all their children. All of us go through ups and downs in life and SleepTalk® gives children the empowerment they need to get through these ups and downs with less anxiety, better coping skills and self-confidence.
So what is it? SleepTalk® is a step by step process which is delivered by the primary carer (parent or guardian) of all the children in the family, each night after they have fallen asleep. The brain is highly receptive to suggestion in children, (in particular younger children), and when we are awake, our conscious mind is listening and judging/analysing all that we take in (that includes adults). When we sleep, regardless of age/race/religion, we ALL go through natural & measurable sleep cycles. At one particular cycle of sleep, a parent/guardian is able to rouse the child just enough that they are alert to the voice but do not fully wake. At this stage the child is taking in positive messages (via the SleepTalk® process) and the critical/analytical mind is at rest and therefore, unable to interrupt the positive messages for the brain to take up, and, after some period of time, will HOLD on to those thoughts as a given.
After the initial consultation, the parent/s leave with all the resources they need to begin the process immediately. You and Lucia make it possible to be contactable at any time during the first three months of the foundation process. Many questions may come up for the parents and Lucia will want to give you encouragement along the way and keep progress reports.
Who is it for? All children will benefit from the SleepTalk® process. There are many & varied reasons why a parent will ring and ask about this process. Some parents see some anxiety creeping in, some see anger increasing, some see a lack of self-confidence or bullying is an issue; then there can be the other end of the spectrum where others live with complex conditions like autism, depression or ADHD, just to list a few. But your children may have no obvious, conceivable ‘issue’ at all!
The process is allowing all children to live in this world and face all there is/will be to face, with less anxiety, a strong and intact sense of self, self-love & tolerance of themselves and others. It is for ALL children.
Changes will occur if you do the SleepTalk® process following the three C’s – they are Commitment, Consistency and Compliance.
The founder of the process, who trained me personally, Joane Goulding, has always said to me “What parent wouldn’t want this for their children?”
Joane’s philosophy is simply this:
“Children are our future and as parents we need to recognise this with a sense of urgency. If we are to take care of the children, we need to take care of them ‘now’. Remember: it’s not what we leave to our children that matters, it’s the knowledge that we leave within their minds. You talk – they listen – creating happiness while they sleep.”
